TAKE UP THE CHALLENGE

Jesus taught that all scripture testifies about him so that in him we might have life (John 5v39-40). King David taught that it is only by living according to God's word that we're kept on the right path (Psalm 119v9). What then could be better than reading the entire Bible? (88) 29 March : Proverbs 12v12 / Exodus 37v1-39v31 / Psalm 23v1-3

BEGIN WITH PRAYER
"Lord open my eyes and my heart."

Read slowly so that you take in. And as you do, turn your heart to God, thanking him for the good you discover and praying his will home for you, yor family, your church and the world.

Wisdom to chew on

Understanding to grow in
The description of how God's instructions were carried out continues. Making the point chapter 39 repeatedly stresses those for the priests were fulfilled "just as the LORD commanded Moses." The fact that it feels rather laborious to read them a second time is in some sense the point. First, it reminds us that without Christ it takes much work to be fit for God's presence - so much so, that we can never be truly fit as Israel's history proved. Second, it gives a hint of the perfection and splendour that must mark God's presence - exciting us for what heaven and the renewed creation will be (see Rev 21-22). As you read try to picture the tabernacle and priests.
Exodus 37:1-39:31

Finish this reading by pausing to ask yourself:
1) What’s the main thing it teaches me about God or his purposes in Christ? Then praise him for this.
2) What’s the main thing it teaches me about his will for me or the world? Then pray that home.

Devotion to offer up
You could read this aloud and perhaps as a springboard to further prayer.
