TAKE UP THE CHALLENGE

Jesus taught that all scripture testifies about him so that in him we might have life (John 5v39-40). King David taught that it is only by living according to God's word that we're kept on the right path (Psalm 119v9). What then could be better than reading the entire Bible? (89) 30 March : Proverbs 12v13 / Exodus 39v32-40v38 / Psalm 23v4-6

BEGIN WITH PRAYER
"Lord open my eyes and my heart."

Read slowly so that you take in. And as you do, turn your heart to God, thanking him for the good you discover and praying his will home for you, yor family, your church and the world.

Wisdom to chew on

Understanding to grow in
The sanctuary is put together. At its centre is a tent split into two compartments by a curtain. In one part is the ark. This is the most holy place of God's presence only the High Priest will be able to enter once a year. In the other part is the table holding the bread of the presence, the lampstand opposite it, and the altar for burning incense infront of the curtain. The entrance to the tent is another curtain. And around it is a courtyard entered by a further curtain. In the courtyard is the altar for burnt offerings, the utensils involved in its use, and a wash basin for Moses and the High Priests to wash their hands and feet so they are clean in approaching the LORD. When everything was set up, it happened: God himself came to reside there. This was seen by the cloud of his presence settling on the inner tent and his shining glory filling it. Whenever the cloud would lift the Israelites would set out. They were being led by the LORD. What wonder that Jesus promises that by his Holy Spirit he will be with us "to the very end of the age" (Matt 28v20), and that he moves us to do what's right (Gal 5v25). As the good shepherd with his sheep, it is he who leads us in paths of righteousness through this life and into the life to come. As you read try and picture the tabernacle.
Exodus 39:32-40:38

Finish this reading by pausing to ask yourself:
1) What’s the main thing it teaches me about God or his purposes in Christ? Then praise him for this.
2) What’s the main thing it teaches me about his will for me or the world? Then pray that home.

Devotion to offer up
You could read this aloud and perhaps as a springboard to further prayer.
