TAKE UP THE CHALLENGE

Jesus taught that all scripture testifies about him so that in him we might have life (John 5v39-40). King David taught that it is only by living according to God's word that we're kept on the right path (Psalm 119v9). What then could be better than reading the entire Bible? (442) 19 March : Proverbs 21v21 / Isaiah 28 / Psalm 96v1-6

BEGIN WITH PRAYER
"Lord open my eyes and my heart."

Read slowly so that you take in. And as you do, turn your heart to God, thanking him for the good you discover and praying his will home for you, your family, your church and the world.

Wisdom to chew on
Understanding to grow in
There's no place for complacency. Those ruling in Jerusalem no doubt took pride in doing so, and its prophets and priests no doubt assumed all was well between them and the LORD. Not so. They displayed a disrespect to their position with their drunkeness, clouding their judgment in communicating decisions and visions. The Lord therefore declares judgment on the city, but promises hope too: He will establish a cornerstone - the one all esle in a building is aligned to. And it will therefore ensure his people are aligned to justice and righteousness, and even somehow mean death itself is overcome. We know the cornerstone is Jesus (Acts 4v11). But Isaiah's point is that in him the LORD will ensure his people has what the leaders are failing to give. Which is why we should seek kto be ruled by and listen to Jesus. As you read note what is promised.
Isaiah 28

Finish this reading by pausing to ask yourself:
1) What’s the main thing it teaches me about God or his purposes in Christ? Then praise him for this.
2) What’s the main thing it teaches me about his will for me or the world? Then pray that home.

Devotion to offer up
You could read this aloud and perhaps as a springboard to further prayer.
